About

I’m Ryan Dupre, a freelance audio engineer based out of Austin, Texas. Whether you need a mixing engineer for your project, or are looking for help with engineering from beginning to end, you’ve come to the right place. Working with me means working with someone who cares about your music just as much as you do.

Growing up, music completely enveloped my life. Every single person in my family plays a musical instrument. Starting with classical training in violin, I soon after branched out into guitar as well, cementing my love for rock music. I attended UT Austin and earned a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film, focusing on audio in both film and music.

My many years as both a musician and a lover of music has helped to develop a keen ear for all the little sonic details one must pay attention to during the process of recording to mixing to mastering. I specialize in mixing in the genres of rock, blues, folk, and all things alternative and indie, but I can also help you on your project through the entire recording process. My philosophy as an audio engineer is to always act in service of the song and the artist. All songs tell a story—one that deserves to not only sound amazing, but also radiate with emotion and achieve your creative vision.

Send me a message today and we can bring your project to life!

Services

Recording

In need of a competitive solution for tracking? My private studio has everything you need for professional sounding recordings. Come record guitar overdubs with the best in amp sims, or lay down vocal tracks through an analog recording chain. I also have a custom electronic kit for triggering drum VSTs, and can track a rock trio when recording basics.

Mixing

If you are looking for someone that can get the crack of your snare just right, make your guitars scream with emotion, or draw out the intimacy of a vocal, you’ve come to the right place. My mixes are warm, balanced, and full of clarity… unless of course the song calls for dark, dense, and intense. The key to a perfect mix is to listen to what the song desires to be, and with every mix I perform, I am simply revealing its true self.

Mastering

Though mastering is always best done by a fresh set of ears, I am more than happy to master your project as an add-on service to mixing. If your project is already mixed, I can master that too. Working with me, your masters will be loud yet dynamic, competitive but not fatiguing.

I do not do any form of mastering to vinyl at this time.
